0’00’’ – A Performative Act was an installation and performance for my ECA Project Space in October, 2008. The installation part was the exhibition of my transcription of John Cage’s 4’33’’ into a text-based medium. This transcription itself was the performance of Cage’s 0’00’’( aka 4’33’’ No,2). This performance was then incorporated into a larger performance where I took the “post-show” discussion of the Project Space and used it to produce a critical analysis of not only 0’00’’ and 4’33’’, but also of the Project Space itself.
